- How is the SmartyKat™ CatnipLounger™ different than other cat beds?
In several ways. First of all, the CatnipLounger™ uses the attractant power of catnip to lure cats to their own special sleeping spot. Secondly, the design of the Lounger is decidedly different in scale than many cat beds. The cozy Lounger has low sides and a broad platform, giving cats who just want to relax and "hang out" a bird's eye-view of the room.
- Will my cat be able to smell the catnip in the Lounger?
Absolutely, as long as your cat is known to react to catnip. (1/3 of the cat population lacks the gene necessary.) A zippered pouch that tucks into the bottom of the Lounger holds the catnip and releases the scent. We recommend squeezing the Lounger lightly after putting the catnip pouch in. It will release the aroma more quickly.
- How often should I replace the catnip?
