How does oat grass help my pet?
Cats and many other small animals naturally crave greens. SweetGreens™ Seeds are a healthy alternative for your pet to satisfy its craving without eating houseplants or lawns that may be poisonous or treated with chemicals or pesticides. Oat grass contains easily assimilated nutrients such as proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and enzymes to help keep your pet healthy. It also contains chlorophyll, a natural breath freshener, and roughage that will aid your pet's digestion.
Why can't I just let my pet nibble on my houseplants or regular grass?
Houseplants and grasses can be poisonous to your pet, and many are treated with harmful chemicals or pesticides.
Why aren't my SweetGreens™ Seeds sprouting?
Most people find their SweetGreens™ sprout quickly and easily. If this was not your experience, there are several possible reasons why your SweetGreens™ are having trouble sprouting. First, be sure that there is no more than 1/4" of potting soil on top of the seeds. Second, make sure that the soil is always damp. Do not let the soil get dry, but also do allow the soil to remain constantly saturated with water because mold will form. Be certain that the seeds are placed in a warm, dark spot. You boost germination by pre-soaking seeds in water for six to eight hours. Then rinse, drain and plant following the package directions. You can also boost sprouting by refrigeration for several days and then potting; the chill should stimulate germination. Lastly, fresher seeds will always sprout better than stale ones because germination declines over time. So be sure that your seeds are fresh, no more than six months old. If you follow these instructions, your seeds should begin to sprout in just two to three days after planting.
