  • Why do I need a SuperScratcher+™?
All felines are born with a natural instinct to scratch, and house cats are no different. Cats instinctively scratch to remove the build-up that develops on their claws. Many cats will scratch on furniture, carpet, wood floors, or other home furnishings, which can cause frustration and expense for cat owners. Made with a special honeycomb surface, the SuperScratcher+™ trains cats to direct their claws to a more appropriate surface, one that is easily differentiated from common household surfaces such as carpet and upholstery. TheSuperScratcher+™ is exactly twice as wide as our regular SuperScratcher®.

  • Why did Worldwise make a larger SuperScratcher+™?
Our original SuperScratcher™ customers wrote us to tell us their cats enjoyed sleeping and lounging on the scratchers so much that they taped two together to double their fun. We thought it was a great idea and introduced the SuperScratcher+™. It was designed to provide a more substantial platform for larger, heavier cats to scratch and sit on. Not surprisingly, the SuperScratcher+™ has become a "big" seller for cats of all sizes.

  • Is there any reason my smaller cat wouldn't enjoy the SuperScratcher+™?
Cats of all sizes enjoy the SuperScratcher+™. Bigger cats (10 lbs. and over) will likely feel more comfortable with a larger scratching surface. But your smaller cat will love the wide open scratching terrain just as much!

  • Why should I purchase the SuperScratcher+™ instead of a carpeted or sisal scratcher?
Our SuperScratcher+™ works better than those other scratching devices! In a home, a cat's favorite places to scratch usually include the carpet, rug, or the upholstered leg of a sofa or chair. In the past, many cat owners bought carpeted scratching posts to give their cat somewhere else to scratch. Unfortunately, many cats don't distinguish between carpeting on the scratching post and the carpeting on a floor. The resulting confusion is that cats will often not stop scratching in undesirable spots.

The SmartyKat™SuperScratcher™, however, has a texture that mimics tree bark, which is what your cat would instinctively scratch in nature. It is unlike anything else in your home, and your cat's sensitive paws can feel the difference. This makes it much easier to re-direct your cat's desire to scratch. Additionally, the SuperScratcher+™ is loaded with our 100% pure Certified Organic Catnip and the tantalizing fragrance attracts cats like a magnet!

  • How long does a SuperScratcher+™ last?
In a one-cat home, the SuperScratcher+™ will typically last several months. Compared to the cost of replacing your damaged home furnishings or carpet, this is quite a bargain! After the SuperScratcher+™ has given its life for your furnishings, it can be recycled with other cardboard products where facilities exist.

  • I have more than one cat. Do I need morer than one SuperScratcher+™?
It all depends on your cats. If your cats get along very well and are accustomed to sharing food, toys and beds, then one SuperScratcher+™ might suffice for them all. Most customers tell us they get the best results by supplying one scratcher™ per cat.

  • My cat has a short attention span. Will it really stay interested in your scratcher?
Most cats scratch consistently until they scratch all the way to the bottom of the box! In the unlikely event your cat eventually loses interest, you can always “recharge” it with our special SmartyKat™ Certified Organic Catnip (available separately).

  • What should I do if my cat doesn't seem interested in the SuperScratcher+™.
In the unlikely event that your cat does not respond, consider the following: Put the SuperScratcher+™ in your cat's favorite place. In front of your cat, rub the catnip in the honeycomb cardboard to release the catnip aroma. Place your cat on top of the SuperScratcher+™, and show him/her how they can scratch it. Try this several times over the course of a week. If your cat is still uninterested, your cat may be too young (kittens under the age of 4-6 months have not developed the gene to react to catnip) or may be one of the few adult cats that are not affected by catnip. If this is the case, please e-mail us with the age of your cat, if your cat has responded positively to any catnip before, and any other relevant information. We'll e-mail you back and try and figure out a solution with you!
